For this couple, Provincetown was the ideal location to celebrate their love, where they exchanged vows on a sailboat surrounded by close friends and an unforgettable sunset.

Celebrating in Provincetown is a joy for may reasons - the history, the coastline, the beautiful nature, and the inclusivity. P-town is for lovers!

For this couple, the simplicity and intimacy of their wedding day were exactly what they envisioned. There were no large crowds or extravagant decorations—just the two of them, surrounded by the people who mattered most. The small, close-knit setting allowed them to savor every moment, from the quiet exchange of vows to the tender glances shared between the couple. Capturing candid moments, real emotions, and genuine connection is one of the joys of photographing intimate weddings. The wedding was small, intimate, and full of emotion. Traveling from out of town to marry in Provincetown, the couple were joined by a small group of their closest friends, making the ceremony feel deeply personal and meaningful. The setting couldn’t have been more perfect—a beautiful sailboat gently gliding through the harbor, with the stunning Cape Cod coastline as the backdrop. Their dear friend led the ceremony, bringing both tears and laughter as they exchanged heartfelt vows in front of the sparkling sea. And ohhh… that sunset!

As the sun set over Provincetown’s harbor, the sky shifted to soft hues of pink and gold, providing a stunning backdrop for the final moments of the day. The peaceful atmosphere was a reminder of the quiet beauty in intimate weddings—where every detail, every moment, feels personal and meaningful.

It was the perfect close to a small, unforgettable celebration, and a testament to why coastal Massachusetts - and especially Provincetown - is such a special place for weddings and elopements.

Romantic fall wedding in a greenhouse

As a wedding photographer in New England and a former resident of Rhode Island (is it my favourite state? Maybe) there are a few venues that always feel like home—and Roger Williams Botanical Garden is one of our absolute favorites. When Sister City was asked to photograph yet another fall wedding there (fall is the best time of year) I couldn’t wait to capture the magic of this gorgeous, botanical setting once again. From the lush greenery to the whimsical touches of vibrant fall colors, this wedding was the perfect blend of romance, tradition, and modern elegance. Thank you, Kristina & Mike, for having me document this magickal day!

Roger Williams Botanical Garden was the perfect backdrop for this celebration of love. The stunning greenhouse, with its towering tropical plants and lush greenery, created a romantic and exotic atmosphere that couldn’t be matched. We captured several beautiful portraits of the couple in this space, with soft, natural light pouring in from the glass ceiling and illuminating the couple in the most flattering way. The lush plants created a sense of intimacy and natural beauty that was a photographer’s dream. Did I mention that I love this venue?!

The bride's gown was a true vision of timeless elegance—simple yet striking, with a sleek silhouette that made her glow as she walked down the aisle. Understated, and full of beauty. The groom looked equally dashing, and was SO photogenic and happy to pose for couples’ portraits (guys, we loveee that), looking every bit the part of the proud partner ready to start this new chapter with his love.

Another amazing thing about weddings at Roger Williams Botanical Garden… it’s surrounded by the massive Roger Williams Park - a dream come true for a variety of photography backdrops, within a very close distance. K & M and I were able to take photos around the park and incorporate gorgeous autumn leaves, waterfront views, and the iconic Temple to Music - giving of Grecian palace vibes - all within 5 minutes of the wedding venue.

Wedding party, family and guests alike all looked dapper and sophisticated in their suits and colorful boutonnieres.

Speaking of the boutonnieres… One of the highlights of this wedding was the flowers. The couple worked with a local florist who brought their vision to life with a vibrant, autumn-inspired palette. The bouquet was a striking mix of magenta, deep pinks, and rich purples, complemented by pops of orange and yellow, capturing the essence of fall in New England. The florals were funky and fun, with unexpected textures and colors that added personality and charm to every corner of the venue.

K & M started off the reception party with the most adorable choreographed dance routine, and then danced the night away under the glow of the moon shining in through the greenhouse glass above. A beautiful evening to celebrate a beautiful love story. Congrats, Kristina and Mike!

City Hall in style

M + D’s Boston City Hall elopement

A City Hall wedding, but this time, with style.

Congrats to these two babes on their wedding and on doing it their way - in a purple dress, leather jackets, bookstore, coffee shop, and traveling by subway (love it).

Definitely the best looking babes on the train that morning.

Ok, if you know Boston, you know our City Hall is… well… iconically ugly. But we made it look gooooood.

After their tilldeathdousparts they grabbed a coffee, shopped a bookstore and wandered the city.

We love when our couples want to take photos in places or in poses that are characteristically them.

This one was one for the books (or blog, rather)! We love a non traditional dress, a city stroll, and some moody, creative photos…

The landlord’s daughter… Dorchester love story and backyard wedding

S + P’s love story began

when he moved into her mom’s rental property in the famed Boston neighborhood. She lived a floor away, they met, sparks flew… as it goes, he fell in love with the landlord’s daughter…

Years later, they had their First Look outside the very same apartment door he walked into (and moved into) and changed his life and love forever. We took their photos on the same street corner where they had their first kiss (below!)

Oh, I am a sucker for sweet sentimentality.

After a heartfelt first look outside the couple’s apartment, we wandered a few streets over to the sweetest backyard ceremony at the bride’s best friend’s home around the block in Dorchester.

The bride’s parents were also married at her mom’s best friends home in Dorchester. * queue sentimental happy tears *

After a relaxed cocktail hour, some champagne bottles popped and lots of hugs, the evening moved into a cozy string-light-lit dinner at a long communal table, with family-style take-out from a local favorite restaurant.

Speeches, more happy tears, and dancing closed out the evening, along with a cake made by the groom’s parents that included their cake topper from their wedding back in the day - did I mention how thoughtful and sentimental this entire experience was? Sweetness surrounds these two.

Most certainly a night to remember.

An amazing place for a weekend getaway, artist retreat, family reunion, girls trip, elopement, wedding or just a good old party… I love Bisbee and I know you will too!

I realize there aren’t many resources for wedding planning in my sweet tiny town - even though it’s full to the brim with unique locations and hidden gems. Here are some of the best places for wedding ceremonies and photoshoots around Bisbee, Arizona.

After five years of living in Bisbee, Boston, and a few other places in between - I have come to know and absolutely adore this town. We’ve photographed many of the magical weddings that happen here.

The Courtyard

A popular venue for its adorable bar full of unique, antique treasures, and cozy outdoor space to dance the night away under the stars. Located in the heart of Brewery Gulch so the afterparty can continue just a few steps away. A wedding fav!

Juniper Flats

A winding drive up above the Mule Pass Tunnel leads to Juniper Flats - pull over at the white wall for expansive views overlooking the valley. There are a few hikes up here that are worth the trek.

The Bisbee Grand Hotel

Lowell is a tourist favorite, and for good reason. Endless photo opportunities here, just a few minutes away from old town and totally worth the trip.

Plenty to see and photograph on Main Street in Old Bisbee. Have a wander down Subway Street, too, for a little less foot traffic and some interesting textures and historic brick buildings.

Gorgeous wedding in cute and quaint Bisbee, Arizona - ten miles from the Mexican border and a world away from anything I’ve seen in the USA.

Anna and Jon’s wedding was a sweet little tour of the town - ceremony outside of the iconic art deco courthouse, photos in the supposedly haunted Victorian Suite at the Bisbee Grand, and an outdoor reception at The Courtyard.
