Some family sessions feel less like a photoshoot and more like stepping into a perfectly framed indie film. This cinematic family photography session in Bisbee and Lowell, Arizona, unfolded with warm tones, thoughtful symmetry, and the kind of quiet, in-between moments that make a story feel real. With a little bit of Wes Anderson structure and a whole lot of Little Miss Sunshine road-trip energy, this session turned downtown streets, vintage storefronts, and forgotten corners of Cochise County into the backdrop for something timeless.

A quiet stretch of Lowell, Arizona, where the road feels like an invitation, and every storefront holds a story. This part of town is one of my favorite places for outdoor family photography near Bisbee — the textures, colors, and wide-open streets give families space to simply be together.

Beneath the arches of the Copper Queen Library in Bisbee, the town slowed down just long enough for a moment to linger. Historic landmarks like this bring a sense of place into every image, grounding the session in the heart of Bisbee, Arizona’s mining-town history. Walking hand in hand through downtown, this family turned a simple stroll into a scene that feels like it could belong in the final frames of a coming-of-age film.

A forgotten gas station becomes a stage for small, perfect moments.

The vintage Shell station in Lowell, AZ is one of my favorite cinematic family photography locations in South Arizona. The bold colors, desert light, and open space create a playful, film-like setting where kids can climb, laugh, and invent their own story inside the frame. These are the moments that don’t feel “posed” — they feel remembered.

Some of my favorite images happen between destinations — leaning against old cars, wandering quiet streets, or pausing in front of buildings that have stood for decades. These in-between moments are where storytelling family photography truly shines. They remind us that the beauty isn’t just in the location — it’s in the way families move through it together.

Cocktail bar + a slick car, Copley Square downtown Boston editorial engagement photos

This engagement session was pure magic — full of chic editorial vibes, fun city energy, and plenty of personality.

The couple showed up looking like absolute icons. She wore a short white dress with a dramatic oversized bow, sheer tights, and gloves — the perfect mix of playful and couture. He kept it cool and classic in a sleek black suit, later pulling up in his Camaro for the ultimate city romance moment. We started the shoot inside a stylish Boston hotel and their cocktail bar — flash photography, high contrast, moody atmosphere. Think fashion editorial meets late-night city romance. These images have that timeless yet bold quality: champagne, neon glows, and unapologetic kisses at the bar.

What to Wear for a Boston Shoot

There’s something magical about small weddings in small towns. This intimate ceremony at Hotel La More in Bisbee, Arizona was full of charm, love, color - and surreal, gorgeous lanterns.

Hotel La More at The Bisbee Inn is a charming historic hotel nestled in the heart of Bisbee, Arizona, built in 1916.

One of its most enchanting features is the lobby adorned with colorful, multicolored lanterns hanging from the ceiling. These vibrant lanterns create a warm and inviting atmosphere, adding to the hotel's unique character and making it a memorable setting for any special occasion.

After a heartfelt exchange of vows, we took group and family photos along Bisbee’s iconic Main Street—capturing the colorful buildings, vintage vibes, and the spirit of Bisbee.

The couple ended the day with golden-hour portraits in the mountains of Juniper Flats. Just the two of them, surrounded by nature, wild skies, and quiet desert magic.

Boston: a love story.

I moved here on a whim for college. A freshly 18 former-Floridian who never learned to dress for the cold, nor drive on snow. I was the epitome of a fish out of water. (I still don’t really know how to dress for the cold - what do you mean I can’t wear a crop top in January?)

To be honest, after college I was ready to leave Boston - I wanted to try new places, I wanted to see the world. The reason I stayed was my business, which had grown more than my wildest dreams. This business has brought me places I never fathomed, and success I didn’t think possible as a freelance creative (huge thank you to everyone who supported me back then, and since)

So, I lived other places since - and yet, I keep coming back. For half the year (avoiding winter, you bet), a month or three, wedding season, a few select weddings…
There’s a funny thing about working as a photographer - well, I want to work in a beautiful place. I’ve traveled the world, I’ve lived all over the USA - yet Boston remains where my business is based, where I keep returning to with my camera - because of the beautiful places and beautiful people I connect with and photograph here.

Acorn Street

Yes, it’s worth the hype. This is quintessential Beacon Hill - a cobblestone street, lined with ivy-covered brick buildings, bay windows with hand-forged iron gates and flower boxes overflowing with seasonal plants and color.

This is a popular tourist photo-op! If you want a photo with no pedestrians in the background, I highly recommend you come during an off-peak time. Ask your photographer when is best to plan for this stop along your route.

Beacon Hill

Beacon Hill IS New England charm. It’s practically perfect.

Take a stroll off the beaten path (Charles Street) and be charmed by Boston’s cutest (and oldest) neighborhood.

The South End

A sweet neighborhood with a mix of greenery and urban charm. And a great area for a post-shoot dinner or cocktail.

The T

It’s our metro, our subway, our train… it’s called the “T”!

Whether it’s an intentional destination or just your transportation from one location to another, couples photos on the T are SO cute.

Boston Public Garden

Our central park, this gorgeous greenspace is perfect for photos (and for a moment of serenity and nature amongst downtown). Lush greenery, a historic bridge, plenty of picnic space, amazing peoplewatching… this park is free, always open, and large - there are plenty of places to explore and photograph.

I love watching the leaves change color and new plants be planted seasonally. The spring tulips are my favourite.

Charles River

This famed river separates the cities of Boston and Cambridge. There are plenty of footbridges to cross over the river (they make for gorgeous backdrops, too).

If you’ve planned to stop in the Boston Public Garden for your engagement shoot, take the footbridge at Arlington Street to cross Storrow Drive and get to the small park that lines the Charles - a great spot for photos at sunset.

Fenway Park

Home of the Red Sox and not to be forgotten! This is a fun area of town and worth a trip - right at or after sunset is great for photos here, to capture some energy of the city.

Sailboat Elopement in Provincetown

Provincetown, Massachusetts, is the place to be!

Known for its rich history, vibrant LGBTQ+ culture, and breathtaking coastal views, it’s the perfect place for couples looking for a unique and intimate wedding experience. For this couple, Provincetown was the ideal location to celebrate their love, where they exchanged vows on a sailboat surrounded by close friends and an unforgettable sunset.

Celebrating in Provincetown is a joy for may reasons - the history, the coastline, the beautiful nature, and the inclusivity. P-town is for lovers!

For this couple, the simplicity and intimacy of their wedding day were exactly what they envisioned. There were no large crowds or extravagant decorations—just the two of them, surrounded by the people who mattered most. The small, close-knit setting allowed them to savor every moment, from the quiet exchange of vows to the tender glances shared between the couple. Capturing candid moments, real emotions, and genuine connection is one of the joys of photographing intimate weddings. These photos are timeless reminders of the love that was celebrated in such a personal way.

The wedding was small, intimate, and full of emotion. Traveling from out of town to marry in Provincetown, the couple were joined by a small group of their closest friends, making the ceremony feel deeply personal and meaningful. The setting couldn’t have been more perfect—a beautiful sailboat gently gliding through the harbor, with the stunning Cape Cod coastline as the backdrop. Their dear friend led the ceremony, bringing both tears and laughter as they exchanged heartfelt vows in front of the sparkling sea. And ohhh… that sunset!

As the sun set over Provincetown’s harbor, the sky shifted to soft hues of pink and gold, providing a stunning backdrop for the final moments of the day. The peaceful atmosphere was a reminder of the quiet beauty in intimate weddings—where every detail, every moment, feels personal and meaningful.

It was the perfect close to a small, unforgettable celebration, and a testament to why coastal Massachusetts - and especially Provincetown - is such a special place for weddings and elopements.
